Sacred art shapes how people imagine holiness, belonging, and God’s presence. For many Black Catholics, sacred imagery has historically not reflected their communities or experiences. Image Cloister seeks to help reverse this visual erasure by offering sacred art that affirms the dignity, history, and spiritual heritage of Black Catholics while remaining rooted in the universal tradition of the Roman Catholic Church.
